Interoperability Working Group
The OMA Interoperability (IOP) Working Group acts as a center of excellence to identify, specifyand maintain the required processes, policies and test programs for ensuring interoperability for OMA specifiedenablers and end-to-end services.
The OMA IOP Group will continuously consolidate all present and future interoperabilitygroups from organizations consolidated, or to be consolidating into OMA, to secure a common understanding ofthe ongoing IOP activities, study and understand best practices in the IOP area.
The OMA IOP group is responsible for providing interoperability of the enablers included inOMA scope, as well as to provide end-to-end interoperability test cases at a service level as defined by OMA.This will be handled over the interfaces specified by the OMA architecture.

IOP Sub-Working Groups
IOP Browsing Group
The Group is a sub-group of the OMA Interoperability Working Group.
The objective of the group is to implement the OMA Interoperability policies and process toensure interoperability of OMA content delivery, presentation and protection and also security technologiesin both specifications and implementations. This will be achieved by producing Interoperability and ConformanceTest Specifications as defined in the OMA Interoperability policies and process document.
The scope of the group is to cover interoperability and conformance activities of OMA technologiesfor content delivery, presentation and protection; both legacy activities transitioned from WAP Forum and any newdevelopments within OMA. Apart from these three areas of content handling, the group will also cover security ingeneral.
The group shall be responsible for managing and implementing the OMA Interoperability process incontent delivery, presentation and protection and also security technologies and driving test development withinthese applicable browsing technologies.
To achieve this objective the scope of this activity will include:
- Develop the necessary test documentation and data to validate the enabler releases
- Cooperating with technical working groups to ensure the right testing scope and strategy for OMA content delivery, presentation and protection technologies and related technology enablers.
- Identification, definition and the provisioning of requirements for any special tool(s) necessary for testing
Ensuring the specifications of the enablers covered are reviewed from a conformance andinteroperability testing perspective.

IOP MEssaging and Context Group
The Group is a sub-group of the OMA Interoperability Working Group.
The OMA IOP Messaging and Context Sub-Working Group (IOP MEC SWG) is a subgroup of the OMAInteroperability Working Group (OMA IOP WG). IOP MEC is responsible for organizing, promoting, coordinating, managing interoperability test (IOT) and conformance test activities on the enablers assigned by OMA IOP WG.Currently, the main focus areas of this group are: messaging and related technologies, charging, devicemanagement, data synchronization and gaming services. The mission of the IOP MEC SWG is to provide evidencethat the technical specifications are mutually consistent and sufficient such that implementations, whichadhere to them, are interoperable.
The OMA IOP MEC SWG is responsible for defining concepts and test environments forinteroperability and conformance testing, according to defined OMA IOP processes and models, for each of theenablers assigned to it by the OMA IOP WG. For each enabler this includes:
- Contributing to the specification of the relevant enabler to ensure the requirements for interoperability and conformance testing are clearly specified.
- Identification, definition and the provisioning of requirements for any special tool(s) necessary for testing.
- Development and provisioning of interoperability and conformance test cases as considered necessary.
- Addressing issues originating from interoperability and conformance testing and communicating them to relevant OMA groups.
The OMA IOP MEC SWG is also responsible for contributing to the OMA IOP process development.
The IOP MEC SWG is responsible for making recommendations for enabler testing and approvalto the OMA IOP WG.

IOP TTCN-3 Group
The Group is a sub-group of the OMA Interoperability Working Group.
The OMA IOP TTCN Sub-Working Group (IOP TTCN SWG) is a subgroup of the OMA InteroperabilityWorking Group (OMA IOP WG). IOP TTCN is responsible for organising, promoting, coordinating and managing TTCN-3code development for conformance tests applicable to all technologies, according to defined OMA IOP processesand models.
The mission of the IOP TTCN SWG is to provide TTCN-3 code to OMA members for the execution ofconformance test cases and to promote maximal reuse of this testing technology in the OMA enabler validationphases.
The OMA IOP TTCN SWG is responsible for defining a concept and a test environment for TTCN-3code development, according to defined OMA IOP processes and models. For each of the enablers, the decisionto utilize TTCN for development of conformance test code is made by the OMA IOP WG. For each enabler thisincludes:
- Assist IOP WG and the IOP SWGs in analysing the suitability of Enablers for TTCN development.
- Contributing to the enabler test specification development of the relevant enabler to ensure the potential for TTCN-3 code development is considered when defining the test tool applicability.
- Development and provisioning of test models and test architectures as considered necessary.
- Reviewing TTCN-3 code developed and produced by external organizations or companies where applicable.
- Reviewing TTCN change requests during the TTCN verification phase.
- Addressing issues originating from conformance tests implementation and communicating them to relevant OMA groups.
The OMA IOP TTCN SWG is also responsible for contributing to the OMA IOP process development.
The IOP TTCN SWG is responsible for making recommendations for enabler testing and approvalto the OMA IOP WG.
